I've been in a rut lately. I'm at work for up to 14 hours at a time, then I come back to the hotel, eat, shower, and head for bed. I may make time for Bible reading and prayer on some days, but all too often, I collapse exhausted on the bed without any relationship-building between myself and the one true master of the universe.

As our nation's economy continues its slow, downward slide, we who live for the one true God must not make the mistake of abandoning the things he has put in our hearts. We do need to reevaluate them. There may be some things that we were wrong about, and some that we were not wrong, but the time has passed, and some that we are to delay. But there will be some things, whether continued from before or newly given, which will challenge you this year.

 

Thoughts On Diligence And Productivity

 I had a conversation recently with a young person who wanted to start an enterprise with some of his companions. He said that none of them know anything about how to do the things they'll need to do, nor do they have any time or money set aside to learn. I immediately thought of his performance in another area.

He had been offered the chance to learn another field--provided some tools, some learning resources, and some assignments to pursue--but ultimately chose not to do anything with it.
